But what starts as a perfect night for Naz becomes a nightmare when he’s arrested for murder. Created by Steven Zaillian (“Schindler’s List,” “American Gangster”) and Richard Price (“The Color of Money,” HBO’s “The Wire”), the eight-part HBO limited series production THE NIGHT OF debuts SUNDAY, JULY 10 (9:00-10:30 p.m. ET/PT), followed by hour-long episodes debuting subsequent Sundays at the same time, exclusively on HBO. The show is also available on HBO NOW, HBO GO and HBO On Demand. Starring John Turturro (“Fading Gigolo,” “O Brother, Where Art Thou?”) and Riz Ahmed (“Nightcrawler”), and directed by Zaillian (7 episodes) and James Marsh (1 episode), from teleplays by Price and Zaillian, the show delves into the intricacies of a complex New York City murder case with cultural and political overtones. The story examines the police investigation, the legal proceedings, the criminal justice system and Rikers Island, where the accused await trial. “It’s a crime story, a police story, a legal story, a corrections story,” observes Zaillian. “You make a story about all that, tell it honestly, and it will naturally be a social story.” For more info click here
