Week in TV: 8/21 Zomies, Computers, and Football!

As the Olympics closing ceremony is tonight, we will find ourselves looking toward the fall season filled with Football and television premieres. August is not slacking with the return of Fear the Walking Dead and Halt & Catch Fire. We can envision the geek community will be happy about the return of The Walking Dead franchise as well as the highly anticipated seventh season premiere of The Walking Dead October 23rd.

Geeking Out is on AMC a show with checking out. This week Jeff Loeb (Executive VP for Marvel TV) and four-time Eisner Award winner will be a guest along with Charlie Cox (Daredevil).

“Gomorrah,” Italy’s all-time most popular television series, is based on the best-selling book by journalist Roberto Saviano. The novel has sold over 10 million copies worldwide and inspired the film Gomorrah, which won the 2008 Grand Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival. Set in the suburbs of Naples, the series focuses on the inside story of the Camorra, the fierce Neapolitan crime organization, told through the eyes of Ciro Di Marzio (Marco D’Amore), the right hand of the clan’s godfather, Pietro Savastanno (Fortunato Cerlino).
