ECCC Announces Official Beer for 2017 Con

Emerald City Comic Con (ECCC) has announced its official beer for 2017: Dark Heron, brewed by Fremont Brewing. ECCC, which will be held March 2-5, 2017, has a history with crafted beer, offering Dark Heron at the 2016 con, as well as a beergarden for of-age attendees. For 2017, Dark Heron has been re-crafted with a new flavor and new artwork from Seattle comic artist Jen Vaughn (Nicki Minaj: The Empire, Plants vs Zombies: Heroes).

The beer will debut (and be available for tasting) at a party sponsored by Emerald City Comicon and Fremont Brewing on February 2 from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM at the Fremont Brewing Urban Beer Garden – 1050 N 34th St in Seattle. It will then be available in local Seattle stores beginning February 3.

“After last year’s success working with Fremont Brewing on a unique blend of flavors to create a bold tasting beer, it only made sense that we spice it up even more adding new flavors to the Dark Heron IPA and new artwork.” said Lance Fensterman, Global Senior Vice President of ReedPOP. “This year’s brew will for sure satisfy the taste buds of our diverse and distinct Fans as well as beer connoisseurs of all types.”

Of course, those who attend ECCC 2017 will also be able to sample the Dark Heron ale.
