Hangout: 4/2 WonderCon !!

WONDERCON 2017 SPECIAL

It’s here! This weekend has seen the Anaheim Convention Center play host to the massive Comic-Con International sister event, WonderCon! And what a show it has been!
Social media feeds have been riddled with reports of exciting show panels, niche interests features and plenty of top-notch cosplay. But what is it like to experience WonderCon, actually on the ground? The good news is, Alyssa Franks (Friends Of Comic Con Forum) will be beaming in to give us the lowdown on how the weekend has progressed so far, how some of the layout changes have affected the show and how WonderCon has returned to Anaheim with a bang!
We are introduces to the works of Stranger Comics and the artist and writer Jeremy Bastians work on Cursed Pirate Girl. Plus we get to interview the singular person responsible for elevating the the male geeks appearance, Tony Kim. His new clothing line The Hero Within was available to try one and order at his site, https://herowithinstore.com
It’s not all WonderCon, though: we’re also joined by geekscape.net’s Allie Hanley, who has been to see the new adaptation of GHOST IN THE SHELL and wants to share her take on it. Does this Western version of a manga classic deserve the hype, or does it fall short at the hurdle? We’ll discuss the film on this weeks episode.
That, and all the con culture headlines of the last seven days – if you’re not at WCA (or if you’re stuck in a line at WCA and have nothing better to do!), we hope you can join us!

Alyssa bought her first comic at age 7 and was hooked. She has collected comics most of her life. Recently, she has branched out to comic art and books and the occasional Lego set. She goes to as many cons as she can and enjoys the 'long form' storytelling of the television medium. She is also a foodie and is always up for trying new and different food.
