Next Week in TV 8/6: Goodby Turn & Orphan Black

By DRWHO42 and Alyssa

Sharks are flying and bats are swinging this week! Fans of the Sharknado movies will rejoice with the latest installment of the series airing Sunday on SyFy. Also returning to our screens Sunday is our favorite Los Angeles fixer, Ray Donovan. Each season of this series has provided lots of twist & turns as well an interesting cast and this season Susan Sarandon will be joining the mix.

Later in the week Mr. Mercedes, an adaption from the Stephen King novel, will premiere on the Audience network. DRWHO42 screened the first couple of episodes and is working on a review as well as a recap of SDCC press room. Stay tuned for the article but as a sneak peak he recommends putting this on your watch list.

For those looking for a good laugh special editions of SNL: Weekend Update will air weekly starting this week. Also, Ducktales will premieres Saturday.

The ongoing series of Games of Thrones, Orphan Black, The Mist, Will, and Midnight, Texas are not to be missed. Topping the list is GoT with one of the most talked scenes of the week (no spoilers if you did not watch it).

Lastly, we will say goodbye to Doubt and Turn as they wrap up their series this week. We will say a special goodbye to one of the best genre series featuring clones, Orphan Black. This series has been a standout from the start and featured the excellent and memorable performance(s) of Tatiana Maslany along with a great supporting cast. Orphan Black certainly raised the bar for actors who will play clones, or twins for that matter, in the future.

DRWHO42’s picks:
New: Mr. Mercedes, Ray Donovan
On-going: Game of Thrones, The Strain, Midnight, Texas, Preacher, Broadchurch, Orphan Black, The Mist

Binge / Stack: Hawaii 5-0, Westworld, Glitch, Elementary, Voltron, The Magicians, Supernatural, iZombie

Alyssa’s picks:

Still stacked up: 24 Legacy, Better Call Saul, Marvel’s Agent of Shield, DC’s Legends, Into The Badlands, iZombie, Handmaid’s Tale, Blindspot, The Flash, The Exorcist, Z Nation, The Strain, & Halt and Catch Fire, and Salvation.
