Next Week in TV 2/4: Sports, Shows & More Sports

By Mario Wario, DRWHO42, and Alyssa

It’s time to get ready everyone, because the sports world (either professional or amateur) will be the star for this week in television. For Sunday, before the big game, how about checking out the cute animal bowls over on Animal Planet and on the Hallmark Channel. After that, do enjoy the party food, the commercials and Super Bowl LII, but don’t forget to do some ‘Captain Tightpants’ exercises to fight off those ‘Operative’ calories. (Yes, those were Firefly references.) Overall, fingers crossed for a competitive football game.

Then we get a couple of mid-week finales: for instance, Monday presents us with the 3rd winter break of Supergirl, while the 4th season finale of The Librarians will be hitting the airwaves on Wednesday. Speaking of Wednesday, it is the beginning of season 3 of the highly anticipated Channel Zero on SYFY.

Which takes us to Friday and three Netflix specials. The first is a one-shot romantic comedy/time travel movie called When We First Met and the second is David Bruckner’s supernatural thriller The Ritual. We must say that both do look good, but the highlight for us has to be the second half of season 1 of Fate/Apocrypha. It’s great that Netflix is showing commitment to the anime art form, and it should be noted that season 2 will air on February 9th. So be on the lookout Crunchyroll, because Netflix maybe coming for you!

Finally, we wrap up the week with more SPORTS in the form of the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympic Games. On Friday, the opening ceremony will be on NBC during prime time but after that — Let The Games Begin! NBC has a well-laid-out website enabling everyone to select any sport and, dare I say it, stream all the curling we can possibly want to watch! (So don’t forget to click HERE to bookmark the NBC website.) By the way, the normal NBC programming schedule will be different during the Olympics, so don’t forget to check their schedule. And if you are wondering, probably due to the Olympics, ABC’s Agents of Shield has gone on a brief hiatus until March.

So, what are you watching? As always, join the conversation over on the FoCC forum by clicking here and share your thoughts. We will see you next week!

Editor’s note: Nerd/geek interest are highlighted in RED.
