Next Week in TV 2/18: A Few Shows and a Rebel

By Mario Wario, DRWHO42 and Alyssa

The past week in TV has been exhilarating with the non-stop Olympic action from Pyeongchang. We have been catching on with the Olympic spirit and cheering on all of the competitors. On the flip side there are a few of us who are losing sleep, because they are staying up late watching the live coverage (DRWHO42 & Alyssa raise their hands). The coverage this year has been good, thus click HERE to check out the NBC website to see the coverage schedule and access content available for streaming.

Looking ahead to this week we enter in the final week of the Winter Olympics; there are a few interesting options to put on your radar.

Netflix has been churning out great content and this week will be no exception with the film premieres of Fullmetal Alchemist, Mute, and Forgotten. Also on the radar is the US premiere of The Frankenstein Chronicles, starring Sean Bean. The platform will release the first two seasons of the series (as season 2 wrapped in the UK a short while ago). The trailer for this series caught our attention almost immediately, so we recommend adding this to your list.

Care to join the resistance in a galaxy far far away? The fan favorite Star Wars Rebels returns this week on Disney XD.

Amazon will be the place to be for fans of the Thunderbirds. Thunderbirds Are Go returns for its fourth season on the platform while The Tick wraps up its season with the release of its “back-six” episodes.

In the realm of on-going series Black Lighting has been receiving a lot of buzz from viewers and with Episode 6 airing this week, it is not too late to catch up on this great series. Click the link to check out The CW’s website to access the episodes available for streaming: http://www.cwtv.com/shows/black-lightning. Strike Back fans were also treated to a special surprise news announcement with the return of the Section 20 OGs Scott and Stonebridge for an episode. This news came ahead of the episode airing in the UK and with the US airing with a lag there will be a little bit of a wait. In the meantime, if you have not caught up with Strike Back we highly recommend tuning in to check out the action.

Lastly, but certainly not least, there was an exciting announcement from NBC this week with the second season renewal of Midnight, Texas. Also on the TV news radar we learned that Mr. Mercedes has started production on its second season.

Of course, don’t forget to join the conversation over on the FoCC forum by clicking HERE. Keep following the blog for your daily dose of comic con culture. Until next time, happy viewing everyone!
