If anyone has the strength to book it, hoteltravel.com has the Indigo very very very cheap.

However, 2 notes of caution.
1) I've never heard of hoteltravel.com before, having looked them up they don't have a very good rep.
2) After what most of us went through with Hotwire last year, a third party booking is playing with fire.

Mobile site was buggy for me, another sign of caution.

It doesn't sound like anything the Indigo would do--sell rooms cheap. They are the ones who had rooms available for very high prices last year after the Travel Planners thing was over with. Why would they sell cheap?

[Finally back to actively checking and planning SDCC stuff @.@ it's so anxiety inducing to be away from it for so long. But a major move from SB to SD kept me insanely busy.]

I'm having a hard time deciding if I want to try for Hard Rock or Omni. The Omni was freakin amazing but the Hard Rock..ahh there's just nothing like it!

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Personally, I would go for the Hard Rock over the Omni, but that's just me. I prefer to be right in it with all the noise etc. Plus my friend has an amazing track-record of running into celebrities she loves, so she'd love it there. But I go for the Bayfront every year for Hall H purposes anyway and so far have a perfect track-record - knocks on wood -

However, the other 2-3 people confirmed in my hotel group for this next year are pretty awful at getting their forms in quickly enough. Maybe I'll do a bootcamp this year for it... "Iris' Hotel Form Bootcamp: You WILL get better, or ELSE." Didn't have the time to this past year.

So annoyed with myself that I missed some great back-up options as I'm usually an obsessive planner, sigh.

I finally checked out that site.  It looks like a regular hotel site.  The Omni isn't showing up, but the usual suspects of less than ideal hotels that usually aren't con hotels do show up.

I then checked Expedia and the Indigo is trying to get $776 a night.

Omni dropped off the list a few days ago. The ones remaining are available most other places. It was just when they were offering the Omni for a ridiculously low amount that got me interested and also worried.

I just did a little research.  They are owned by an Indian travel company that is traded on NASDAQ.  Most analysts opinions on the stock is "buy".  They could just be trying to get a footprint into the U.S. market with this site.

That doesn't explain why they had cheap rooms at the Omni, but they don't appear to be a "fly by night" company.

Wish I would have seen that Omni deal; love the Omni's location.

Looks like the Pendry won't be open until Fall 2016 :(

Shoot, I was looking forward to having another Gaslamp hotel possibly available. I looked to see if the estimated opening had changed but apparently didn't check very thoroughly. Thanks for the update.

The interface between Trivago and Travelocity is bugged, try the SDCC dates and you won't believe your eyes :D
