If the cpu you are looking for is the 6600k the cheapest right now is amazon. It's out of stock but you can still buy it for $254 plus taxes.

I see micro center has it for $229 ( wish I had one by me T_T)

That's the one, Frys lists it for $239 but like Microcenter, it's store pickup only. I'll probably stop by a Frys on the way home from work just in case. Wish I had a better notion of Amazon restocking, will likely have all of the other parts by this weekend.

Were you mid build alyssa? It really sucks forgetting parts, I double checked my case and it comes with all the ones I need.

$239 for the 6600k sounds good, I keep forgetting to check Fry's for parts but I will check them out when I'm ready to pick up the mobo, cpu, and ram in a week.

I5-6600K back in stock at Fry's. They carry the SSDs too so now just a matter of picking things up and waiting for packages. Happy coincidence, I have to go to the Fry's in Palo Alto and it just so happens that computer programming god Don Knuth is giving his annual "Christmas Tree" lecture on Thursday.

Was too good to be true, got the "We regret to inform you that your order number, XXXXXXXX, is NOT READY for
pick up because the following items are not available in store at this time..." Now stuck in their Malebolge of a phone support system. >:(

Hopefully you can get the 6600K for that great price. I see that newegg has the ddr4 I want:

Anyone got a promo code, I want to see if I can push the price down lower. Also if you download the Newegg app it gives you their premier service free for 3 months.

Lots of parts arrived yesterday, but my build is still in the scarecrow state. Was finally able to snag the CPU from newegg, those I5-6600Ks do not stay in stock for long, so just waiting for it and Windows 10. Really hope they arrive in the next few days, it is looking to be a nice stormy weekend here.

Spent way too much money but am very happy.

Coolest thing is the NVMe SSD, lightning on a stick. Only slightly bigger than a stick of gum.

I'm jealous of that 950 pro I only got an 850 m.2 drive (using sata 3):P I got about half my parts coming in the mail but SF customs is taking it's sweet time with all of my parts from newegg.

Those 850s are great! And at the prices these days a much smarter buy than mine I think. I don't think I would have gone NVMe if I didn't work in the data storage industry and want to mess around a bit with the new technology. Although it did force a lot of my decisions on things like CPU, mobo and memory which was kind of nice.

I am hoping to start the build tonight after work @3
I'm done waiting for Lewis. Must get it built.

It maybe a popcorn and beer supper unless I can get someone else to cook.

Got side tracked by work and family obligations and I may have had to rip it apart due to a fan cable getting stuck under the mobo

Cabling is not done!  I just need to get the os installed tonight to have any chance of using it for tomorrow's show

I gotta say I like the raidmax case
They included enough cable ties, had tie downs where I need them by and large, and the drive bays were easy install without stupid hand contortions.  It has been a while since I've done a build tho, so this might be the norm now

This thing opens gimp in seconds

NICE! And grats on the nice clean build. I was pleasantly surprised to find all of the ties and extra hardware with my case as well, things do seem to have gotten friendlier since my last build.

My CPU and OS were supposed to come today but did not, will probably have to wait until next weekend to get it done.  Nothing worse than a stack of new toys you can't play with >:(
