As silly as this may sound... DC and WB often has a decent prescence at Wonder-Con. I "wonder" if Wonder-Con would be a nice launching pad for the new Wonder Woman movie? I think it would make a huge splash at the show. Thoughts?  :)

WonderCon 2016 has a great line-up of stellar sci fi and fantasy authors as special guests, all of whom will be featured in special Spotlight panels. Those guests are:

Amber Benson (Echo Park Coven & Calliope Reaper-Jones series)
Stephen Blackmoore (Dead Things, Broken Souls)
Peter Clines (The Fold, 14, Ex-Heroes Series)
V. E. Schwab (A Gathering of Shadows, A Darker Side of Magic, This Savage Song)
Scott Sigler (Generations Trilogy, Galactic Football League Series)
Carrie Vaughan (Kitty Norville series, Steel, Dreams of the Golden Age)

In addition to their Spotlight panels, these special guests will also appear on other panels with more great authors. And best of all, they’ll all be signing in a designated signing area after their panels, with books available for sale! Check the WonderCon 2016 Program Book for the exact location of the signing area (WonderCon maps are coming soon on the website, too!) Here’s a preliminary schedule of the panels:

Friday, March 25

12:00—1:00: Getting to the Point-SF/F authors Carrie Vaughn (The Kitty Norville series), Peter Clines (The Fold and the Ex-Heroes series), Arwen Dayton (The Seeker Series), Sam Sykes (Aeon's Gate Trilogy & Bring Down Heaven’s Gate series), and Brian Staveley (Chronicle of the Unhewn Throne series) discuss the pointy strategic bits of weapons and battle tactics as their characters battle for causes from the mundane to the sublime. Moderated by Maryelizabeth Yturralde of Mysterious Galaxy. Room 151

1:30— 2:30: Spotlight on Stephen Blackmoore Room 515B

3:00—4:00: Futurecasting and Timeline Salad-Dragons, witches, elemental forces, alternate timelines, time travel, and more! Join Maryelizabeth Yturralde of Mysterious Galaxy and Charlie Jane Anders (All the Birds in the Sky), James Morris (The Three Kingdoms Trilogy), Greg Van Eekhout (California Bones trilogy), and Elizabeth Briggs (Future Shock) in looking at the past, present, and future through different lens and timelines. Room 151

7:00—8:00: Building Worlds with Words-Whether it's far-flung futures or fantastical stories, the worlds that authors build are complex. How do storytellers create brand new worlds and unexplored universes? What is it like to become an architect for expansive mythos treasured by the masses? What’s the process for developing exciting new protagonists and working with established icons? Join Cecil Castellucci (Moving Target: Princess Leia), Aditi Khorana (Mirror in the Sky), Sarah Kuhn (Heroine Complex), Caragh M O’Brien (Vault of Dreamers), Margaret Stohl (Black Widow: Forever Red), and Victoria Schwab (A Gathering of Shadows) as they discuss how they create their worlds, the process involved in creating nuanced characters and working with licensed properties. Room 411

Saturday, March 26

11:00—12:00: Mythos Mix-Up-Centuries of mythology inform speculative fiction storytelling; how do authors pick and choose what they incorporate and what they alter? Classic heroes and heroines, deities and sea creatures, and monsters-terrestrial and extra--play roles in the works of Rachel Marks (Dark Cycle series), Randy Henderson (Arcana Familia series), Judd Winick (HILO series), Tobie Easton (Mer Chronicles), and Kathryn Rose (Metal & Lace series). Join these authors in conversation with Maryelizabeth Yturralde of Mysterious Galaxy. Room 151

12:00—1:00: Spotlight on Peter Clines Room 515A

2:00—3:00: It's a Horrible Life (or UnLife)-What is it about grim and gritty, dark and dystopian, that readers crave? And how can humor exist in the midst thereof? Tap into the noir side of existence with R.S. Belcher (The Six-Gun Tarot, The Brotherhood of the Wheel), Robert Brockway (The Unnoticeables), Stephen Blackmore (“Heroes Reborn: Dirty Deeds”), Scott Sigler (Generations Trilogy), Amber Benson (The Echo Park Coven novels), and David Mariotte of Mysterious Galaxy. Room 151

12:00—1:00: Spotlight on Carrie Vaughn Room 515A

1:00—2:00: Spotlight on Scott Sigler Room 151

2:00—3:00: Unexpected Enemies, Unlikely Friends-Personal and political alliances make for strange bedfellows, companions, and frenemies, in the tales of Josephine Angelini (Worldwalker Trilogy), Leah Thomas (Because You’ll Never Meet Me), Chris Howard (Night Speed), and V.E. Schwab (A Darker Shade of Magic). Maryelizabeth Yturralde of Mysterious Galaxy moderates. Room 151

Please note: Schedule and panelist appearances are subject to change.

Comics Publisher Panels at WonderCon 2016!

The core of WonderCon (and Comic-Con International, for that matter) is comics. You’ll see it throughout the show: In the Exhibit Hall, comics are represented by some of the top publishers in the business, by vendors selling classic comic books in the Golden and Silver Age area, and by booth after booth of current comics and graphic novels. But you’ll really see it in our program schedule, where a plethora of publishers are represented in panel discussions that take place all 3 days of WonderCon. Here’s a preliminary rundown (minus days and time, which we’ll post about 2 weeks out from the show) of the publishers participating in WonderCon 2016 programming.
